Hozy

Hozy is a single-player simulation about renovating and furnishing abandoned living spaces. After returning to a run-down small town, you gradually bring rooms back into shape. Instead of performance pressure, the focus is on small tasks and freely placeable furniture.

The game was developed by Come On Studio and is published by tinyBuild.

Released Mar 30, 2026 for Windows and macOS. The standalone versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release on Nov 9, 2026. A Nintendo Switch version is announced for 2026.

The free PC expansion Hideaways has been available since Sep 14, 2026.

The Xbox version supports Xbox Play Anywhere as well as Xbox achievements and cloud saves. On PS5, Hozy offers haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of the DualSense controller. Remote Play is possible via PlayStation Portal.

The work starts with tidying up: removing dirt, cleaning windows, pulling up tiles and painting walls. Then you furnish the room with furniture, light sources and decoration. Items can be rotated and freely arranged in the room.

The game has no time limits, scores or penalties. Whether a room looks finished is up to your own taste.

Hozy: Hideaways adds three new areas on PC: a modern apartment, a tech studio and a greenhouse. Further tasks such as mowing the lawn and removing old carpets expand the renovation work. New furniture and music tracks are also included.

The free expansion requires the main game. Its areas become accessible after the tutorial. A release on other platforms cannot be inferred from this.

On Windows, Hozy requires at least Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD FX-8350, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 1050 Ti or Radeon RX 560 and 5 GB of free storage space. DirectX 11 is required.

On macOS, Steam lists macOS 14, an Apple M1 chip, 16 GB RAM and likewise 5 GB of free storage space.

The main story covers nine locations in a slowly revived small town. These include the parents' house, an artist's studio and a café that was once busier. Personal finds and the furnishings tell the story of the people who lived there.

The story focuses on exploration and small observations rather than combat missions or competitions.

A mop, window scraper and crowbar handle different tasks. Windows can be opened, lamps switched on, and many small objects tried out. Physical movement and matching sounds make each tool feel noticeably different.

A suitable selection of furniture and decoration is available for each story room. Wallpapers, paint colours and flooring can be customised without having to search through a huge furniture catalogue.

Photo mode offers filters and camera settings to capture finished rooms.

After finishing the story, rooms you have already renovated can be redesigned in Game+ mode. Alternative furniture sets change their character, and you can also switch between day and night. This creates new versions of familiar rooms.

In sandbox mode, the furnishing items are available to combine freely. Furniture can be duplicated, walls and floors can be styled differently, and rooms can be furnished without a set renovation sequence.

Furniture from the PC expansion Hideaways can also be used in the sandbox.

The PlayStation 5 version uses haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and the built-in speaker of the DualSense controller. Scrubbing a floor and prying up a floorboard are meant to feel different through this. Sounds from individual tools can come directly from the controller.

These are additional control and sound features that do not change the fundamentally calm gameplay.

According to tinyBuild, the PS5 version offers eleven languages and settings for display and controls. These include adjustable tool movement, invertible camera controls and colour display options.

On Steam, twelve supported languages are listed for the PC version, including German, English, French and Spanish. The Steam list does not automatically describe the scope of the console versions.

Sounds react to surfaces, tools and placed objects. If you open a window or play the piano, for example, the soundscape changes. The music adapts while you renovate.

The soundtrack comes from the composer who also worked on Stray and Seasons After Fall.

Hozy is designed for calm single-player sessions. Neither the story nor the free design modes rely on competitive scoring. You can take as much time as you like to remove dirt, place furniture and add details such as candles or lighting.
