What is Knightica?
Knightica is a turn-based roguelike auto battler from Mad Mango Games. You assemble an army of differently shaped units, place and rotate them on the field, and look for synergies between troops, equipment, enchantments and demonic souls. Once a battle begins, it runs automatically. The strategic core therefore lies in recruitment, formation, resources and the decisions between battles.

Gameplay
Before each automatic battle, you decide which units join your army and where they stand. Size, position and facing affect how well their abilities work together. Between battles, you choose paths, visit shops, take on elite encounters and upgrade your troops. This creates runs with changing combinations of commanders, units, items, enchantments and demonic souls.
The build allows several approaches, such as large swarms, targeted upgrades for fewer units, or a stronger economy. The worlds gradually increase the difficulty and end in encounters with bosses and their own mechanics.

Strategy and run structure
Knightica clearly separates planning from execution. The battles run automatically, while beforehand you build your formation and afterwards choose the next step on a branching route. Shops, elite enemies and other encounters compete for limited resources. What makes the game is not individual reflexes but the combination of positioning, synergies, risk and long-term run economy.
