What is Let’s Build a Dungeon?

Let’s Build a Dungeon combines studio management with an RPG toolkit. You found a development studio, assemble a team and build your own MMORPG within the simulation. The work ranges from staff, budget and schedule to quests, cities, dungeons, items and how virtual players react to your decisions.

The key feature is the second layer: the game your studio develops can be entered and tried out at any time. Management, worldbuilding and testing your own creations thus blend directly into one another.

Release

in 3 months

Let’s Build a Dungeon launches on February 11, 2027. On PC, the game appears in Steam Early Access, while on Xbox the Game Preview phase begins the same day. Springloaded had previously planned a launch at the end of 2026 but postponed the date for additional development time and a calmer release window.

Early Access is part of the concept: while Springloaded expands the real game, you also gradually develop your own virtual project in the campaign up to release and beyond.

Gameplay

In the campaign you run a game studio from a small team to releasing your own MMORPG. Staff are hired, projects planned and budgets managed. At the same time, the actual game world takes shape with quests, NPCs, cities, dungeons, enemies and items.

After your virtual game launches, you watch players, evaluate feedback and respond to problems such as grind, balance or falling retention. You can test the content you build from a player's perspective at any time and then edit it again in the editor.

Campaign, Creative Mode, Just Build and Twitch

At launch, several clearly separated game modes are planned. Campaign Mode combines studio management and RPG development. In Creative Mode, the building and editor tools take center stage as an open sandbox. Just Build reduces management pressure and uses a relaxed deck-building system for worldbuilding.

There is also Twitch integration: viewers can appear as virtual players and vote on important studio decisions. Multiplayer for Just Build is planned but, according to Springloaded, may not necessarily be available right at the Early Access launch.
