Marvel's Wolverine

Marvel's Wolverine is a story-driven single-player action adventure from Insomniac Games. It centers on James “Logan” Howlett, who is drawn back into the conflict around Team X three years after leaving it. While mutants are hunted by the Reavers and captured for Bolivar Trask, Logan reunites with other mutants.

The story is self-contained and does not require you to know Insomniac's Spider-Man games. Locations range from the Canadian wilderness to Tokyo and on to Madripoor.

Marvel's Wolverine released on Sep 15, 2026 exclusively for PlayStation 5. The game was built from the ground up for PS5 and has no PS4 version.

Only a native PlayStation 5 version has been confirmed. Sony and Insomniac have not announced a PC or PS4 version. The game supports the features of the DualSense controller and has also been optimized for PS5 Pro.

Wolverine focuses on fast, brutal close combat with Logan's Adamantium claws. Attacks, parries and kills build up Rage. This resource strengthens attacks, activates the healing factor and can tip into an especially aggressive Rage state. Logan can stalk enemies, ambush them or jump straight into groups.

Techniques such as Tornado Spin and Bull Rush expand the moveset. Critical attacks can be triggered alone or together with allies. The adventure is deliberately not an open world, but a more staged journey with large action sequences and linear story sections.

To orient himself and track targets, Logan uses his sharpened Senses. These include visual scent trails and audio cues for tracks, collectibles and relevant sound sources. Since update 1.001.006, the hints for whisky bottles, supply crates and Nightmare Doors can be turned off separately; story-critical Senses stay active.
