What is Masters of Albion?

Masters of Albion is a god game from 22cans. Players build and manage settlements, shape production and resource flows, and can also intervene directly in the world or take over individual residents. The daily cycle combines building and shaping with nightly attacks that settlements must be prepared for.

Gameplay

The core alternates between building during the day and defending at night. During the day, you build structures, production chains and custom-designed products; the God Hand lets you manipulate the world directly, and individual characters can be taken over. At night, combat, defense and preparing for shifting attack targets take center stage.

New Beginnings: the major systems overhaul

With New Beginnings, 22cans permanently rebuilt several core systems on Oct 1, 2026. These include a different rendering system, an expanded intro, a restructured order system, card-based Arcadium progression, reworked night battles with clear goals and permanent rewards, a visible corruption mechanic, and more direct interactions of the God Hand with characters and the environment. Version 2.0 requires a new save; older saves from version 1.4 cannot be loaded directly.

In its own tests, 22cans reports up to roughly double the frame rates after the rendering switch, but notes that the gain depends on hardware and settings.
