MECHBORN

MECHBORN is a tactical roguelike card game in which customizable combat robots fend off a kaiju invasion. Mech parts determine your card pool, while pilots add extra abilities. The game world blends science fiction with motifs from Greek mythology.

The PC version releases in Q1 2027. Curve Games originally announced a launch at the end of 2026.

MECHBORN is announced for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The Microsoft Store also lists Xbox One. The PC version is sold through Steam.

In combat, seven cards are always available on a conveyor belt. When a card is played, a new one moves up. A card's position affects its effect: support cards boost certain positions, while pilots can change the order.

The system requirements listed on Steam apply only to the playtest, not the finished release. They include Windows 10 (64-bit) and DirectX 12.

Three mechs offer different combat focuses. Their equipment can be swapped for head, chest, arms and legs. New parts add more cards to the starting deck. Matching sets unlock fixed combinations, while mixed parts allow your own strategies.

Each pilot brings special skills that charge up during combat when you play cards. This lets you move, copy or change cards to match attack and defense.

Expeditions lead through three continents, each built differently. Instead of a fixed route, players choose their own paths and can return to traders. Fuel, hit points and money set limits. Along the way, factions, workshops and abandoned research labs await.

Regular enemies, stronger elite enemies and large bosses require different card combinations. After winning battles, players can receive new cards, upgrades or improvements for their mech.

The PC description mentions a campaign, daily challenges, freely configurable battles and a Swarm mode with a leaderboard. The single player is the focus.

The PC version includes German, English, French, Spanish, Japanese and Korean menus and subtitles, among others.
