What is Naruto Mobile?

Naruto Mobile (original Chinese title 火影忍者) is a competitive action game for smartphones. It combines characters and locations from the Naruto manga and anime series with real-time battles, special techniques and an extensive playable shinobi roster. In October 2026, Bandai Namco announced an international release of the production, which has been available in mainland China since 2016.

The upcoming overseas version is an expansion of this existing game and not automatically a new part of the Ultimate Ninja Storm series. No exact international date has been set.

Platforms

The game is designed for smartphones. The original version, available in China since 2016, demonstrably has native editions for iOS and Android: Tencent refers to the App Store and the Android market, and the Chinese store listings include both versions. For the announced international edition, Bandai Namco has not yet published a complete list of supported devices, OS versions or store countries.

The wording “worldwide” does not, according to the official announcement, guarantee that the title will be released in every country. Available languages also vary by region. PC or console versions have not yet been announced for this product.

Gameplay

The original Chinese version focuses on fast action battles with well-known ninja techniques. Playable fighters use combos, ninjutsu and screen-filling special attacks. The App Store listing describes real-time duels as well as other fights against computer-controlled opponents.

The new international teaser shows the anime look and the pace of the fights. Which mechanics, balance versions or modes will be carried over unchanged to the release outside China has not yet been explained in detail.

Shinobi roster and team building

The playable roster includes many characters from different parts of the Naruto series. The Chinese store lists, among others, Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha and Itachi Uchiha, and describes unlocking various ninja. The game allows players to put together their own battle groups.

For the international announcement, Bandai Namco again promises a wide range of characters, but has not yet published a full character list for individual regions. The scope of the Chinese long-term version should therefore not be assumed to be the global launch offer without checking.

Competition and other modes

The Chinese version describes a PvP area with real-time battles and changing ninja teams. It also includes single challenges and joint battles against strong opponents in the Chinese product. This structure sets the game apart from a purely narrative smartphone adaptation.

The international version is officially described as a competitive action game. It has not yet been confirmed whether all previous Chinese modes, seasons and ranking systems will be available there, or whether the offering will launch differently.

Naruto story and presentation

The game picks up story arcs from Naruto and Naruto Shippuden and lets players relive them in playable matches and familiar ninja locations. The Chinese store highlights the Chūnin Exam and the conflicts between Naruto, Sasuke and other shinobi, among other things.

The presentation draws on anime animation: jutsu and ultimate techniques are shown with striking effects and character poses. The developers have not yet explained whether additional standalone story parts are planned for the international release.

Languages, accounts and distribution

The existing Chinese version is offered on the Chinese app market. For the international expansion, Bandai Namco has expressly stated that country releases and supported languages may differ. A German-language version is therefore not yet guaranteed.

There is so far no reliable global commitment on a possible data transfer from Chinese accounts, international pre-registrations, payment models or the specific launch stores. Game accounts and regional product versions should therefore not be treated as the same thing.

Development and release

The Chinese version was developed at MoreFun Studios within the Tencent game organisation and operated in China by Tencent. Tencent’s Chinese offering documents the early product history. For the international marketing announced for October 2026, Bandai Namco Entertainment acts as the official announcer and provider.

How operations, servers and customer accounts will be organised between regional partners in the future has not yet been published.

Game series

Naruto Mobile uses characters and themes from Masashi Kishimoto’s manga universe. The storyline and character recruitment draw on its well-known ninja world, but belong to a standalone mobile production and not to Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections.

The international expansion was announced as part of the wider Project Rasengan. Its further projects – a Naruto card game, anime content and a new manga – are separate releases from this video game. A date of June 2027 exists for the card game; for Naruto Mobile, there is currently none.
