What is Prospice: Anomalous Logistics?

Prospice: Anomalous Logistics is a single-player adventure between off-road driving simulation and psychological horror. Instead of a race track, the focus is on a deserted island. In a heavy truck, the player carries supplies and puzzling finds through swamps, over rocky slopes and past forgotten outposts.

Developer Code Wakers links the drives to a supernatural backstory: the island bears traces of ancient, dead deities. Cargo deliveries open up further routes, while exploring on foot reveals clues about the fate of the island's inhabitants and bizarre artefacts.

Platforms

The announced native target platforms are PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PC store entry on Steam lists Windows. A release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 is not confirmed by the current announcements.

The Steam version is listed as a single-player title with cloud saves and controller support. The existence of a PC demo does not mean a demo is available on consoles. Cross-platform multiplayer is also not announced for this single-player concept.

Gameplay

The core of the experience is transport. The player explores difficult routes, chooses safe crossings through water and mud, watches fuel consumption and reaches the next supply point with the delivery. Ground condition, slope and vehicle state determine whether a route is actually passable.

Away from the steering wheel, you can explore the environment on foot. Puzzling devices and finds are meant to give clues about the island's dark history. Exploration takes place in a hand-crafted open world, where distances and obstacles are part of the challenge.

System requirements

Steam lists Windows 10 64-bit as the minimum PC configuration, an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 8 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 1080 or Radeon RX 580. Recommended specs include, among others, a Core i7-10700K or Ryzen 5 5600X, 16 GB RAM and an RTX 3060 or RX 6700 XT.

The store page currently lists only 2 GB of free storage and gives frame rate targets for the two configurations. As the game is still in development, these figures are provisional and not a guarantee of performance in the final full version.

Cargo, fuel and outposts

Missions are not simply about reaching a marker on the map. Cargo and fuel must last for the chosen route, while delivery keeps remote outposts supplied. Artefacts and other special finds are at the same time trade goods, research objects and part of the story.

The gameplay combines the practical side of an expedition with the horror setting. If you plan your route badly, you risk getting stuck with precious cargo in hard-to-reach terrain. As you explore further, more demanding missions and new regions are meant to open up.

Truck, terrain physics and repairs

Code Wakers describes vehicle traction as a separate system: mud and snow create different resistance than hard ground, while slopes and wet terrain make progress harder still. All-wheel drive and a winch help after failed attempts, but they do not replace sensible route planning.

The studio also mentions a damage and repair system with individual vehicle components. Maintenance work can be organised at outposts, and repair kits are meant to help on the road. The vehicle is therefore not just scenery, but a tool that must be looked after constantly.

The island and its supernatural traces

The horror comes mainly from the contrast between everyday logistics and an environment where nature and reality come apart. According to the official backstory, the island holds the remains of enormous divine beings, whose decay is changing the landscape.

Once you leave the safety of the truck, you can use special instruments to discover, examine and document artefacts. These finds are meant to gradually reveal the island's prehistory. The developers have not yet fully described how far the story branches in the finished version.
