REPLACED

REPLACED is a narrative 2.5D action platformer from Sad Cat Studios. Main character R.E.A.C.H. is an artificial intelligence in a human body. It is set in an alternate version of the USA in the 1980s, shaped by the metropolis of Phoenix City.

The single-player adventure combines exploring city districts, climbing sections, fast melee and ranged combat and a continuous story. Richly detailed pixel graphics are supported by dynamic lighting and spatial backgrounds.

REPLACED launched on Apr 14, 2026 for Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S. Atari has announced a further native version for Android. It is set to release on Google Play on Dec 8, 2026. The Android date is an announcement; the PC and Xbox versions have already been released.

The app is currently listed on Google Play and can be added to your wishlist. The sale price at the Android launch is not yet confirmed.

The PC version is offered through Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store and Microsoft. REPLACED came out on console for Xbox Series X|S, and Microsoft promotes Xbox Play Anywhere. A native Xbox One, PlayStation or Switch release is not shown in the official store information checked.

The planned Android port is a standalone Google Play product from Atari, not a simple cloud streaming version. According to the announcement, a purchase within Google Play Games lets you play on smartphone, tablet and PC. Steam and Xbox licenses already bought are not confirmed as transferable.

REPLACED combines sideways exploration and platforming sections with fast melee and ranged combat. R.E.A.C.H. moves through run-down districts, industrial sites and lit streets of Phoenix City. Jumping and climbing blend into combat situations involving dodging, strikes and firearms.

The story follows one main character. REPLACED is a single-player adventure, not a cooperative or competitive multiplayer game. Interacting with residents and uncovering the secrets of the Phoenix Corporation complement the combat.

The minimum Windows requirements list Windows 10 (64-bit), Intel Core i5-8400, 16 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or equivalent and 8 GB of free storage. Android requirements are not described yet.

At launch, Thunderful confirmed the Steam Deck Verified rating. The minimum hardware for Android is not yet known.

The story takes place in an alternate version of the USA after a nuclear catastrophe. Phoenix City is shaped by deep social divides and the influence of the Phoenix Corporation. R.E.A.C.H. investigates its own origins and the corporation's business practices.

Encounters with the city's residents drive the story forward. Identity, self-determination and the relationship between humans and machines are at the centre.

REPLACED combines pixel graphics and a 2.5D view with modern lighting, spatial backdrops and cinematic presentation. The character moves sideways through districts and interiors, whose layers create a strong sense of depth.

A synth-driven soundtrack accompanies the scenes. The Android version is also promoted with this graphic style. Consistent graphics quality and frame rate on every mobile device is not confirmed.

The Android version, planned for Dec 8, 2026, will be made in Poland by The Knights of U, according to their announcement. The store on Google Play is Atari. This means the later mobile release differs from the PC and Xbox release under Thunderful Publishing, which launched in 2026.

Atari says a purchase through the Google Play Games program is meant to be valid on smartphones, tablets and Google's PC gaming environment. No confirmed details are available yet on prices, specific smartphone requirements or transferring existing Xbox or Steam licenses.

Sad Cat Studios developed the original REPLACED. The PC and Xbox release was published by Thunderful Publishing. Atari is acting as publisher for the planned Android port; The Knights of U is responsible for the technical implementation.

These roles relate to the respective versions and do not necessarily mean that all rights to the brand or the maintenance of existing platform versions have been fully transferred.

According to Steam, the PC version includes text options in many languages, including German, English, French, Polish and Japanese. However, a list on a PC store is no proof that the native Android version supports every language and control option.

For the Android launch, the final mobile controls and device requirements are still to be confirmed. REPLACED is designed as a narrative-driven single-player game, so clear dialogue and subtitles are essential features.
