Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a standalone prequel to the A Plague Tale series from Asobo Studio. The story is set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem and follows the young scavenger Sophia to the island of the Minotaur. There she searches for the roots of her family and discovers a connection to the Macula that runs through the series.

As gameplay, Resonance is a single-player action adventure. Melee combat, stealth, exploration and environmental puzzles are closely interwoven as Sophia explores medieval locations and traces of a much older Minoan past.

Resonance was released on Aug 27, 2026. The game was developed by Asobo Studio and published by Focus Entertainment. PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S launched on the same day.

On PC, the game is available through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The Xbox version supports Xbox Play Anywhere and was added to Xbox Game Pass at launch.

Sophia fights with a sword and dagger, parries attacks and chains together quick hits. A grappling hook can be used in combat to knock enemies off balance or exploit hazards in the environment.

Stealth, exploration and puzzles remain just as important. A Minoan sphere is used to manipulate light and solve mechanisms in the island's ruins.

The Heritage Pack is a separate add-on for the base game. It includes the Minoan Sword, Alec's pendant and a digital in-game artbook. The DLC was released alongside the main game and requires Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy as the base game.

On PC, it requires at least Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, 16 GB RAM, a DirectX 12 graphics card with 6 GB VRAM and 75 GB of storage on an SSD. For 1080p at 60 FPS on the Ultra preset, Asobo lists a Ryzen 5 5600X or Core i5-12400F, and a Radeon RX 6700 XT or GeForce RTX 3060 Ti with 8 GB VRAM, among other options.

The story switches between Sophia's medieval present and a Minoan timeline with Theseus. Both timelines are connected through the Macula and the secrets of the island.
