What is SURI: The Seventh Note?
SURI: The Seventh Note is a 2D rhythm action platformer by Tathvamasi Studios. At its heart is Ajira, who searches the island of Suri for a rare fruit to save her mother. Her personal journey becomes an adventure about a disrupted rhythm that throws the world out of balance.
The game was made with support from the PlayStation India Hero Project. Platforms, enemies and escape sequences are closely tied to the soundtrack: the beat is not just backdrop but determines movement, timing and danger.

Music and rhythm
Tathvamasi builds the game around a fixed rhythmic grid. According to game director Glen Martin, there are around 480 milliseconds between main beats, so inputs stay readable without slowing the tempo. About 80 percent of the music was recorded with analog instruments. For different regions of the game world, the team draws on various Indian instruments and traditions and combines them in a hybrid structure adapted to the gameplay.

World and art style
The island world draws on different landscapes, architectural styles and artistic traditions of India. The studio cites, among other things, the forts of Rajasthan, temple regions in the Himalayas, the landscapes of the Western Ghats, and the Ajanta and Ellora caves as inspiration. The hand-drawn style is meant to bring these influences together in a distinctive, colorful 2D world.
