What is Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon?
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is an open-world action RPG from Questline that reimagines Arthurian myths as dark fantasy. About 600 years after the fall of King Arthur, you explore Avalon from a first-person or third-person perspective, make far-reaching choices and follow a branching story across three large regions.
The game world combines exploration, dungeons and quests with crafting, alchemy, smithing, fishing, farming, cooking and building up your own house.

Platforms
The game is available for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Since update 1.30, the Xbox version supports Xbox Play Anywhere, so save games and achievements can carry over between Xbox and Windows PC.
On Steam Deck, update 1.30 offers two graphics profiles: a quality mode targeting around 30 FPS and a performance mode with roughly 35 to 40 FPS.

Gameplay
In combat you combine melee weapons, shields, bows, magic, throwing items and mixtures. Dodging, parrying and blocking are the core defensive mechanics. Attributes, talents and gear can be combined into very different builds.
Beyond combat, exploration and choices shape the story. The main story branches, numerous side quests react to your actions, and the three major regions of Avalon each have their own focus on atmosphere, enemies and discoveries.

DLCs and expansions
Sanctuary of Sarras has been expanding the base game with its own larger adventure since December 2025. Fists of Fury was released for free on Oct 1, 2026, and turns unarmed combat into a full build: the DLC adds a quest line about a hermit in the Horns of the South, seven fistfighting weapons, new gear and its own skill tree.

Fists of Fury: unarmed combat as its own system
Fists of Fury permanently expands the existing unarmed game. Fistfighting Weapons still count as unarmed attacks and therefore use the matching bonuses. Added to this are a separate Strength skill tree, specialized gear and effects for parries, dodges, status build-up, attack speed, stamina and damage spikes. The system is therefore not just a single quest but a standalone build layer.
