What is The New Denpa Men?

The New Denpa Men is a free-to-play RPG by Genius Sonority and the latest entry in the Denpa Men series. The Denpa Men that give the series its name are small beings that, according to the game world, live in radio waves. Players catch them, form a group from them and travel through RPG stages with it.

Alongside combat and character development, the core game concept includes island building, fishing, time-limited events, battles against other Denpa Men groups, and collecting and co-op elements.

The Nintendo Switch version launched on July 22, 2024. Versions for iOS and Android followed on March 10, 2025. A native Nintendo Switch 2 version was added on April 6, 2026, offering a higher resolution and frame rate than the Switch version.

Genius Sonority has announced it will end the ongoing service on Dec 7, 2026 at 11:00 JST. In Germany that corresponds to 03:00 CET.

The New Denpa Men is available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, iOS and Android. The mobile versions support cross-platform play and can use the same save data as the Switch version. Progress can also be carried over between Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 with the same Nintendo Account.

Gameplay

The core system revolves around catching Denpa Men, which the game links to radio waves in the environment. Each caught being has its own traits and can become part of a group. In the stages, the group explores areas, finds treasure chests and secret passages, and fights monsters.

Beyond the main adventures, the game offers island building, fishing, PvP against other Denpa Men groups, time-limited event stages and the Voucher Collection. On Nintendo Switch, Together Catch for up to four players nearby is also part of the feature set.

Crossplay and differences on mobile devices

The iOS and Android versions are linked to the Switch version: save data can be used across platforms and cross-platform play is supported. On smartphones, QR Catch replaces parts of the radio-wave-based catching mechanic. The iOS version does not support Normal Catch; Together Catch and Offline Catch are missing on iOS and Android.
