The Witch's Bakery

The Witch's Bakery is a hand-drawn 2D adventure RPG from Sunny Lab. Witch Lunne opens a bakery in Paris and can dive into the emotional world of her guests. The stories of the city's residents, the baking and the exploration are interwoven.

Sunny Lab lists playtime at around 20 to 25 hours or more, depending on playstyle and reading speed.

The Witch's Bakery was released digitally on Oct 14, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Physical versions for PlayStation 5 and the two Nintendo consoles followed on Oct 16. Box editions include a digital recipe book with French baked goods.

Separate versions for iOS and Android via Crunchyroll Game Vault have been announced.

The Witch's Bakery is available for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The two Nintendo versions are standalone releases with separate store pages. Mobile versions for iOS and Android are set to follow via Crunchyroll Game Vault.

The Witch's Bakery combines conversations, exploration and work in Lunne's bakery. During the day, she serves guests and prepares baked goods. In the evening, she roams Paris, nurtures friendships and learns more about the people she helps. At night, she improves her magic and sets up the bakery.

The focus is on the residents' stories and feelings. Lunne's magical abilities help her understand hidden worries and develop suitable recipes.

At minimum, Steam requires Windows 10 (64-bit), an AMD Athlon X4 or Intel Core i5-4460, 8 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 950 or Radeon R7 370, DirectX 11 and 20 GB of free storage space.

AMD Ryzen 3 or Intel i5 Skylake are recommended, along with 8 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon RX 570. The requirements apply only to the PC version.

Lunne can enter so-called heart palaces. In these magical spaces, suppressed feelings and memories take visible form. The witch accompanies an embodied emotion back to its origin and receives a special ingredient for a bread that can help the person affected.

In this way, the game connects the stories of its characters with the work in Lunne's bakery.

The day has three phases. During the day, Lunne serves customers in the bakery. In the evening, she explores Paris, makes contacts and learns more about the residents. At night, she focuses on new recipes, magic and her studio.

The Witch's Bakery is set in a hand-drawn Paris. Lunne visits districts with their own residents, shops and activities. At the Quai des Bouquinistes, she can stop by the book stalls, look at antiques and discover new recipe books.

The art style blends anime influences with motifs from French painting.

Magical breads help Lunne's customers process their feelings. In the bakery, she works with friends and meets guests with their own stories. Alongside baguettes and croissants, other French baked goods such as chaussons aux pommes play a role.

Lunne finds or buys recipe books while wandering the city. New relationships and stories open up further options in the bakery.

At night, Lunne can decorate the bakery, improve her magical abilities and rest. From tasks in the city and work in the shop, she gains experience, money and new contacts. The studio serves as a retreat between explorations.

The Witch's Bakery is a single-player adventure. German menus and subtitles are available on Steam. Other text languages are English, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese and Simplified Chinese.

The PC version supports Steam achievements, cloud saves and controllers.

The developer is the French indie studio Sunny Lab from Paris, and the publisher is Silver Lining Interactive. The official press kit names Charlotte Gailledreau as Creative Director and Hugo Sahuquet as Narrative Director, among others. The team describes feelings and vulnerability as the core of its storytelling.

Rather than announcing a purely technical simulation, Sunny Lab combines magical everyday stories, hand-drawn characters and motifs from French art and city culture. The developer's page names Unity as the engine used.
