Release

in 3 months

Finji has moved the launch of Usual June from October 28, 2026 to January 20, 2027. The game's website confirms the new date, while the Steam product page currently only shows 2027. On October 16, the studio also announced a native version for Xbox Series X|S at The MIX Fall Showcase. After the announcement, Xbox and the Microsoft Store version for PC are set to release at the same time as the Steam version already planned.

This date is an announced schedule, not a release that has already happened. A verified Xbox One launch, Cross-Save or Xbox Play Anywhere is therefore not automatically guaranteed.

  1. PC

Announced launch for Windows and macOS, also via the PC Microsoft Store; previously planned for October 2026.

  2. Xbox Series

Announced natively for Xbox Series X|S; neither Xbox One nor Xbox Play Anywhere is implied by the announcement.

Platforms

The PC release covers Windows and macOS; these operating systems stay within one PC product identity. Steam lists single-player, achievements and cloud saves for the version offered there. In addition, Finji announced a native Xbox Series X|S version on October 16, 2026. For Windows, the game is also set to be offered via the Microsoft Store alongside Steam.

This means neither a confirmed native Xbox One version nor necessarily cross-platform saves, Cross-Buy or a Play Anywhere license. Finji's press page, which has not yet been updated, still lists only PC/Mac for now. Such extra features remain open until confirmed by the developer or a store.

Abilities and character development

June earns experience points for won battles. As she levels up, she unlocks new techniques, including projectile attacks, defensive abilities and summoned helpers. Equippable charms change her options in combat.

Successful dodges fill the special meter. This allows both cautious counterattacks and riskier play.

Voices and music

For the character voices, audio designer Adam Hay says he developed a real-time system that synthetically generates syllables and vocal sounds. This gives conversations audible expression without every line needing to exist as a classic voice recording.

Hay describes the music as a mix of synthesizer sounds, modern jazz influences and more energetic pieces for combat scenes. Steam currently confirms English on-screen text and subtitles.
