Gameplay

Travel is the focus of Vagrus. You need to plot a route, choose trade goods and secure the caravan's supplies. Food, money, morale and the crew's physical condition decide how far you get.

Along the way you'll meet traders, mercenaries and rival groups. You can transport goods, take on jobs or explore new areas. Decisions often have several consequences: a lucrative journey may cost supplies, while backing one faction turns its rivals against you.

Turn-based battles

Combat in Vagrus is turn-based. In clashes with bandits, monsters and other enemies, you control your companions and use their abilities. Positioning, support and the order of actions are decisive.

The entire caravan can also be attacked on the road. Well-trained guards and the right equipment help, but avoiding a dangerous fight is often just as important.

Companions and personal stories

Companions take on roles in the caravan, such as guard captain, scout or beast handler. They bring their own combat skills and can be developed through personal quests.

Their stories pick up the world's conflicts. Decisions in conversations and jobs can change relationships and options available later.

Factions and choices

In the Riven Realms, trading companies, religious groups and criminal organizations pursue their own goals. As a caravan leader, you can work for these factions, trade with them or play them against each other.

Loyalty to one group often affects relationships with its rivals. Jobs and encounters branch depending on your choices, so journeys and stories can differ noticeably on a replay.
