What is Virtue and a Sledgehammer?
Virtue and a Sledgehammer is a narrative action-adventure by Deconstructeam and Selkie Harbour. The main character returns to her homeland, which is now inhabited by androids, digital copies of the people who once lived there.
With a heavy sledgehammer, she literally works her way through buildings, machines and memories. Behind the destruction is a personal story about family, traditions, belonging and the feeling of no longer being at home in the place of your own childhood.

Virtue and a Sledgehammer releases on Oct 27, 2026. The exact date was confirmed at the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct together with a new trailer.
A playable demo is already available. Devolver Digital is publishing the title for PC.

Gameplay
The sledgehammer is both weapon and exploration tool. Walls and other structures can be smashed to open new paths, while mechanical enemies are also fought with the hammer.
Between these physical sections, cinematic interactive fiction sequences shift to the protagonist's past. The game thus combines destructible environments and third-person action with a strongly narrative structure.
