WANE

WANE is a character-driven tactical roguelite from Metis Creative. At its centre is the archaeologist Declan Wayne, whose crumbling memories shape the world of Ravelle into a shifting labyrinth of trauma, obsession and guilt.

Rather than descending into the depths himself, Wayne puts together expeditions of occultists and mercenaries. Each journey is meant to bring him closer to the heart of Ravelle and a possible rescue of his fading mind.

WANE has no release date yet. The game was officially revealed at the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct on Sep 20, 2026.

A playable demo is announced for 2027. The full release remains open for now.

WANE is currently announced for PC via Steam. The Steam page lists Windows, macOS and SteamOS/Linux with their own system requirements.

Versions for PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo have not been announced so far.

Before each descent, a team of three is put together from six recruitable characters. The turn-based battles play out on a grid and revolve around positioning, cover, lines of sight, hit chances and clever use of the environment.

Ravelle is made up of three large biomes: the Ravellian Sanatorium, the Palace of Arvanshah and the Death Pilgrimage to Erabel. Rooms and enemies change between runs, while unlocked safe areas, shortcuts and other permanent upgrades are kept.

The characters bring their own motives and conflicts. Injuries, scarce supplies and tensions within the group are part of the expedition risk; decisions can strengthen loyalties or turn other companions against Declan.

On Windows, Steam lists at least Windows 10 (64-bit), an Intel Core i5-4590 or Ryzen 3 1200, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 960 with 4 GB, RX 570 or Arc A380, and 3 GB storage. Recommended are Windows 11, a Core i5-9600K or Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM, and a GTX 1660 Super or RX 5600 XT.

Separate minimum and recommended configurations are also listed for macOS and Linux/SteamOS.

Between expeditions, the group returns to Declan's antiques shop. Recovered relics can be kept, studied or sold to pay mercenaries, cover medical costs and fund the next expedition.

WANE combines tactical runs with lasting meta progression: new synergies, shortcuts, safe rooms and upgrades unlock step by step, while the story unfolds deeper into Ravelle through repeated journeys.
