Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest

Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest is a role-playing game based on Erin Hunter's book series. Players create their own cat and experience clan life in the territories around the lake. Bamtang Games developed the game and Trailmark Games published it.

Four narratively standalone campaigns lead through DonnerClan, FlussClan, SchattenClan and WindClan. Hunting, exploration and tactical battles alternate with decisions about loyalty and trust.

Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest was released on Oct 23, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The five native platform versions launched on the same day.

The game is available for Windows PCs via Steam and the Epic Games Store. There are also standalone versions for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and Switch 2.

Versions for PS4 and Xbox One are not part of the released platform lineup.

The cats roam forests, swamps and moors, follow trails and catch prey. Off the beaten paths, hidden areas, environmental puzzles and encounters with other clan members await.

In battles, the game switches to a turn-based system. Teams of up to three cats use learned moves, their clan's strengths and attacks linked to StarClan.

The Prophecy Pack adds more customization options for your own cat and photo mode to Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest. The Feral Edition includes this additional content together with the base game.

The expansion does not change the number of four clan campaigns. The stories are already available in the base game.

The PC version requires Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), a quad-core processor with at least 2.8 GHz, 8 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580. Free storage required is 4 GB.

Recommended: a six-core processor with at least 3.2 GHz, 16 GB RAM and a GeForce RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6800 XT. The game uses DirectX 12.

DonnerClan, FlussClan, SchattenClan and WindClan each have their own campaign. Each story leads through different conflicts, characters and prophecies.

Tasks and decisions reflect the rules and traditions of each clan. That is why the adventures differ beyond just the change of location.

In the character editor, you combine fur patterns, colors, eyes, ears, tail and other features. Your custom cat grows into the clan during its adventures.

Unlocked battle moves determine which abilities are available in battles. You can also customize your own camp and den.

Battles are fought with groups of up to three cats. The game includes 75 unlockable battle moves and focuses on using different abilities at the right time instead of real-time reactions.

Enemies include rival clan members, foxes, badgers and other animals. Team makeup matters especially in tougher encounters.

Prophecy mode includes the four clan stories. In Defense mode, new enemies face you in consecutive battles.

The Skirmish mode allows asynchronous online duels. The participants do not need to be connected at the same time.

Other players can visit your camp asynchronously. Resources and crafted items can be traded with friends to support them.

The four story campaigns remain single-player adventures. The online features are not a campaign played together in real time.

Besides the territories of the four clans, Moonlake and the Island are also featured as locations. The landscapes draw on well-known places from the books and combine them with hidden paths and puzzles.

The encounters also include characters from the book series. Their appearances tie the new stories to the larger world of Warrior Cats.

Alongside the Standard Edition, there is a Feral Edition with additional cosmetic content. The Prophecy Pack includes, among other things, elements for cat customisation and photo mode.

The extra items are not the same as a fifth story campaign.

The PC version supports German menus and subtitles. Full voice-over is available in English. Text is also available in French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch.
