Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is the native Nintendo Switch 2 version of Monolith Soft’s RPG. It still centres on Noah, Mio and their companions, who travel through Aionios and want to break the cycle of war between Keves and Agnus.

The edition includes the full main game and adds technical improvements and new content designed specifically for Nintendo Switch 2. Owners of the original Nintendo Switch version can alternatively buy a separate Upgrade Pack.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition releases on Dec 3, 2026. On the same day, the Upgrade Pack is released for players who already own Xenoblade Chronicles 3 on Nintendo Switch.

The native edition is designed for Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo notes that the additional Switch 2 features are only available on Nintendo Switch 2. If you own the original Xenoblade Chronicles 3 for Nintendo Switch, you can unlock the Switch 2 Edition with a separately sold Upgrade Pack.

The core remains the group-based real-time RPG of Xenoblade Chronicles 3: the party explores Aionios and combines classes, Arts, Heroes and Ouroboros abilities. New is Shimmer, a fast attacker with the Foresight ability, who is recruited through her own Hero quest.

With Heroes’ Vault, Nintendo also adds a defensive combat mode with successive waves of enemies. Between battles, you can boost abilities and recruit additional allies before a particularly strong enemy appears.

In TV mode, the edition supports output up to 4K, and in handheld mode Full HD. Nintendo cites up to 60 frames per second for both modes. In addition, more event scenes are fully voiced in English and Japanese.
