Rent a Counter-Strike: Source server: match play or community mode

If you want to rent a Counter-Strike: Source server, first settle on the planned mode. A private training server needs different map and permission management than a public project with surf, zombie or other community add-ons. Note the maps and plugins you plan to use. Then ask the host about exactly this setup, rather than deciding based on a large slot count or a general mod support note alone.

FastDL is a common way to deliver additional maps and files to players. Check whether the host sets it up and whether extra web space is needed. The files must also be present correctly on the game server.

Is a map rotation the same as a map vote?

No. The rotation sets the order of the maps. Votes may require additional features such as SourceMod plugins. Clarify both requirements separately with the host.
