Crash Dive for Android brings Panic Ensues Software’s original submarine simulation to smartphones and tablets. As commander of a German Type VII C U-boat in World War II, you hunt Allied convoys in the North Atlantic, plan torpedo attacks and try to escape enemy destroyers. The controls are designed for touchscreens; tactical play and accessible action work hand in hand.
Enemy patrols, convoys and depth charges
With periscope and chart you keep enemies in view, choose your approach angle and attack depth, and decide whether to attack a convoy unnoticed or surface with the deck gun. When escorts react, you must evade depth charges with dive maneuvers and decoys. Damage to different parts of the boat requires repairs and changes the situation on board.
From quick encounter to long patrol
You can play individual randomly generated convoy encounters or take on a longer patrol in War Patrol mode with several attacks. Different times of day, four difficulty levels, a tutorial and online leaderboards keep the missions varied. The game is primarily designed for single players.
The Android edition
This standalone mobile version was originally released in 2014 and is offered as an Android app via Google Play. It has an English interface and is not the same license as the PC version on Steam. Crash Dive 2 is a separately available sequel.
