Cricket Through the Ages: the absurd history of cricket
In Cricket Through the Ages, humanity supposedly evolves not through tools and discoveries, but through throwing balls and wielding bats. From the Stone Age through historical duels and other sports to absurd future scenarios, comic characters stumble through short challenges. The joke lies in the unpredictable physics: a single bad swing can send your own character to the ground or hit an opponent at just the right moment.
One button, many game modes and chaos for two
You only need a single button to make a character throw, swing and stumble. Depending on the game mode, weapons, obstacles and rules can change. Alone you play through the episodes against the AI; with a second person it becomes a quirky couch duel or shared spectacle. The game comes from Free Lives, the makers of Broforce, and is published by Devolver Digital.
Apple Arcade first on iPhone and iPad
The mobile version was released on Sep 19, 2019 as an Apple Arcade game. On iPhone and iPad, the frantic physics game is played not only with a controller but also with one-button/touch controls. The original Arcade listing describes six modes and duels for two; later free updates added more variants and the story of how the duck was invented.
