New York Mysteries 1 for iPhone and iPad is the iOS version of the hidden-object adventure Secrets of the Mafia. New York, 1955: reporter Laura James investigates the disappearance of several mafia bosses. A strange liquid, butterfly traces and children who soon vanish lead her to suspect that a supernatural power lies behind the events.
Puzzles, hidden-object scenes and an underground secret
You explore more than 50 locations, find clues in interactive hidden-object scenes and solve more than 40 mini-games. Combine items, open new areas and explore the underground city. Collectibles and changing objects invite you to search the pictures closely. The touch controls are adapted for iPhone and iPad; according to a later update, the bonus chapter is also accessible without an extra purchase.
iOS app and in-app purchases
On the German Apple App Store, the game is called New York Mysteries 1 and can be installed for free. Optional in-app purchases include coins and help items, among others; they are not separately redeemable game keys. The version with app ID 1530929864 has been available since 2020 at the latest and supports German plus twelve other on-screen languages. A paid Collector’s Edition app, also offered, contains the same base adventure and is not a standalone game sequel. The current free app requires iOS 12 at minimum.
