Splinter Cell for Game Boy Advance: Sam Fisher in 2D
On the Game Boy Advance, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell is not a shrunken 3D game but a standalone two-dimensional adaptation of the espionage adventure. You guide Sam Fisher from a side view through guarded facilities, climb over obstacles, overpower guards and use gadgets. The use of light and shadow also plays an important role on the handheld.
Stealth missions on the go
The story revolves around Sam Fisher’s secret missions for the NSA unit Third Echelon. In the missions you should stay as unnoticed as possible, bypass security cameras and obtain important information. The pace is more tactical than a typical action platformer; you observe enemies and look for the safest route to the mission objective.
Standalone handheld version
The GBA version was released in April 2003 and differs technically and in gameplay from the Windows, Xbox, PlayStation 2 and GameCube versions. It is a native Game Boy Advance release and not a PC or Xbox download. The game version belongs to the same Splinter Cell series but features a 2D design developed specially for the handheld.
