Permafrost is a story-driven open-world survival sandbox from SpaceRocket Games. After a global catastrophe and the destruction of the Moon, Earth is in an endless winter. As engineer “Rook”, you follow the radio signal of a long-missing friend and fight cold, hunger, dangerous animals and rival factions in frozen cities and wilderness areas.
Exploration, crafting and base building form the core of the game. You repair machines, build a network of shelters and thereby open up new areas. A dog accompanies you as scout and pack carrier. Permafrost can be played alone or online in co-op with up to four players.
The PC version launches in Early Access on Oct 9, 2026 and is available via Steam, GOG.com and the Epic Games Store. The officially announced Early Access release is currently limited to PC.
