The Ash Remembers is a gloomy idle RPG set in the decaying fantasy world of Veyr. As a nameless wanderer, you arrive in Emberwake and develop your character through battles, crafting and exploration. Many activities continue even when the game is closed: you can collect resources, make equipment and resume your progress after a break.

Crafting, gear and dungeons

The progression system links 21 skills to mining, fishing, cooking, smithing and different combat styles. Weapons, armor and upgrades are made from loot you find and materials you gather yourself. In several dungeons, against world bosses and powerful titans, it matters to know the enemies’ weaknesses and tune your gear to them. Companions, your own home and collectible stories are also part of the world of Veyr.

A fresh start that leaves something behind

The so-called Ashfall mechanic allows a deliberate fresh start, in which certain achievements and permanent progress are kept. Alongside the normal mode, the game offers a variant with only one life and a separate path without trading. The text- and menu-driven adventure is accompanied by narrated stories and supports, among other things, fully German text and voice output.

The single-player game developed by Veyr Works was released on Sep 7, 2026 for Windows on Steam. It is bought once; the three separately available hero backgrounds are purely cosmetic extras with no gameplay advantage.
