TowerFall Ascension for PlayStation 4 is a fast-paced local action party game in which up to four archers hunt each other through pixel-art arenas. Arrows are scarce: whoever hits, dodges, catches projectiles out of the air and skillfully uses chests with new arrow types wins the round.
Versus mode offers numerous arenas and variants for tense duels on a shared screen. In Quest mode, one or two players fight monsters and enemy archers together. The separately sold Dark World add-on expands the selection with additional arenas and co-op challenges.
The PS4 version first came out in North America in 2014; the German PlayStation Store lists the regional product as of July 5, 2016. The game is also playable on PS5 via backward compatibility, but there is no standalone native PS5 version.
