Action RPG and kingdom builder in one

In Kingdom’s Return: Time-Eating Fruit and the Ancient Monster, the fantasy kingdom of Almacia lies in ruins. Together with the time fairy Chronos, an adventurer must revive the settlements. The game world combines side-scrolling 2D action with a building element: in dungeons you fight monsters and bosses, complete quests and collect building materials. Back in the realm, you construct buildings that improve your characters and enable new expeditions.

Four combat styles, two interlocking game systems

Imperial, Wizard, Alchemist and Zipangu each have their own skills, stats and attack patterns. In the kingdom, you switch between characters and decide how much time goes into expeditions or building. Even if you focus mostly on one of the two halves of the game, you can still finish the story. Pixel graphics, imaginative enemies and short, direct action battles define the adventure for a single player.

PlayStation 5

The PS5 edition, dated Apr 22, 2026 on the German PlayStation Store, offers a single-player campaign with German on-screen text option, DualSense vibration and Remote Play. It uses the same mix of action sections and town building as the other versions; two separately sold crossover costume packs add visual extras to the characters but do not replace the base game.
