The adventure with a talking elevator comes to PlayStation 5: In MR. ELEVATOR, five people explore mysterious worlds hidden behind seemingly ordinary elevator doors. Each is searching for something different. The unusual encounters, items and clues come together over the course of the story into one connected narrative.

Sound puzzles and bizarre rooms

The puzzles rely on careful listening. Sounds ring out behind doors, radios transmit voices, and symbols hide in the environment whose meaning only becomes clear through pitches or rhythms. You can knock on doors, examine objects and use your character’s two hands separately. Different tools of the five protagonists make for varied tasks. The surreal 3D environments are deliberately designed to look as if they had been drawn in an old paint program.

Highlights of the PS5 version

For PlayStation 5, developer GIFT TEN INDUSTRY K.K. has announced a standalone console version. The additions include subtitles and footsteps played through the speaker of the DualSense controller. This fits the game’s central theme: sounds are not just atmosphere, but often crucial hints for the next solution.

The official Japanese PlayStation announcement names November 27, 2026 for the PS5 launch. A separate European store product code and the exact German release date could not yet be confirmed. Separate PC and Nintendo Switch versions have existed since October 2025; this does not automatically mean a PS4 or Switch 2 version.
