Release

1 year agoSource: Steam

ANTONBLAST was released on Dec 3, 2024 for PC and on Dec 13, 2024 for Nintendo Switch. The native versions for PS4 and PS5 are set to launch on Oct 15, 2026. Publisher Joystick Ventures and developer Summitsphere have narrowed the originally mid-October window to a specific date in their latest press release, according to a report.

The official US PlayStation Store confirms both console versions, but still shows Release date to be determined. The exact date therefore currently comes from the publishers' new announcement, not from an already updated Sony Store listing. The PlayStation launch is not a new main game, but the native console release of the platformer available since 2024.

Gameplay

Anton and Annie use the Mighty Hammer to smash enemies and parts of the environment. A quick dash builds momentum and can be combined with attacks and jumps. Many areas switch between foreground and background layers, so the levels are not just built horizontally.

Each stage combines platforming, combat, hidden items and large boss encounters. The focus is more on offensive movement and destruction than on cautious, precision platforming.

Happy Hour and destructible levels

The central level structure builds towards the Happy Hour. First, the player activates Brulo's explosives and finds Anton's stolen spirit. Then a time-critical escape back to the exit begins, while the level changes and collapses around them.

This return phase is not a one-off story gag but a permanent core element of the level structure, combining exploration with a fast finish under time pressure.

Boss fights and replay value

Alongside its destructible stages, ANTONBLAST features conspicuously large bosses. The levels allow different paces: those playing for best times use direct routes and the movement mechanics; those exploring more thoroughly can search for hidden areas and collectibles.
