What is Arknights: Endfield?

Arknights: Endfield is a free action and strategy role-playing game with exploration, team battles and factory building. It is set on the planet Talos-II, where a human settlement zone borders uncharted areas. As head of Endfield Industries, the so-called Endministrator explores these regions, removes dangers and builds up supply structures.

The key feature is the switch between two permanently linked activities: outside, a team of operators explores and fights, while automated processing chains are built in the production areas. Sourcing materials, equipment and supplying the field team therefore belong to the same game progress. The game is part of the Arknights world, but has its own story and a different game system from the mobile series opener.

Release

Arknights: Endfield released on January 22, 2026 simultaneously for PC, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android. On PC it was initially available through its own Gryphline launcher and the Epic Games Store. The Steam version follows on October 15, 2026, according to the publisher. It is an additional distribution route for the existing PC game and not a new native platform generation. Steam already shows October 14 in some regional views, while Gryphline officially communicates October 15.

The large content chapter Sanctuary of Ink is also announced for October 15. It expands the persistent game world, with new operators and production options. The game is developed by Hypergryph, and the global publisher is Gryphline.

Platforms

Native versions are available for PC with Windows, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android. Windows players can choose between the Gryphline launcher, the Epic Games Store and, from mid-October, Steam. The store switch does not create a second PC game. The title is free to access on all four platforms and requires an account for the online services.

Through a linked Gryphline ID, game progress can be carried over between PC, PS5 and mobile devices, as long as the same game server is used. Progress does not transfer between the America/Europe server region and Asia. On PS5 in particular, the account link should be set up carefully at first login: according to the publisher, a PSN profile that has already been created afterwards cannot easily be merged with another existing Gryphline account.

Gameplay

In the field, several operators move together with the Endministrator. Instead of giving turn-based commands, the player leads the group directly through the environment and triggers abilities in real time. Different operators can react to each other with their skills; combination abilities are especially important, as their effect and trigger order must be considered when planning the team.

The locations connect paths through valleys, settlements and industrial areas with dangerous zones and enemy camps. Exploration unlocks materials and tasks, which in turn enable upgrades to equipment and infrastructure. Sanctuary of Ink also introduces a drawn landscape in which a magic brush can, for example, create missing bridges.

System requirements

The Steam version requires a 64-bit Windows 10 system, a broadband connection and 60 GB of free storage. The store page lists as minimum a Core i5-9400F, 16 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 1060 and DirectX 11. Recommended are a Core i7-10700K and a GeForce RTX 2060, also with 16 GB RAM.

These details come explicitly from the announced Steam version. Earlier installation notes for the Gryphline launcher may list different download and unpacked sizes and should not be mixed up with the current Steam requirements without noticing.

The details apply to PC – Steam (Windows).

AIC factories and automated supply chains

The AIC system is a second core layer of the game. Players place facilities, connect production steps and transport raw materials between stations. Prefabricated blueprints make it easier to get started, while custom layouts allow larger factories with carefully matched paths and machines. The result is more than just the look of the base: produced materials and equipment support new exploration trips.

The October expansion expands the system permanently. Facilities can be placed directly using existing depot materials. For farmland there is a top-down view and an auto-farmer that handles sowing and harvesting. Inter-regional supply orders and staff changes in production cabins also get new control options. What matters most is which processes players plan themselves and which they automate.

Story, new chapters and operators

The story follows the Endministrator and the operators on Talos-II. Their expeditions take them through a world where abandoned infrastructure, unusual phenomena and the Endministrator's past play a role. Sanctuary of Ink moves a larger narrative section into an inhabited landscape painting around an inn. The brush you can use there changes paths within the painted environment and is part of the ongoing chapter mechanics.

The characters introduced for this chapter include Si, who can indirectly deal damage and apply effects to enemies through an Ink Spirit, and Argent Flow, whose combat style combines sword, spear and mounted attacks. Gryphline plans to recruit them in successive phases, not necessarily both on the same day.

Equipment and group planning

Operators bring different skills and equipment needs. Enemy targeting, the order of combo abilities and how the group works together determine how a battle plays out. The developers are expanding these controls with a freely adjustable priority for combos available at the same time and a more precise target selection system.

For team setups that are used repeatedly, named equipment loadouts can be saved. This means players do not have to choose every part by hand for each change. When crafting equipment, filters and automatic material selection are also meant to shorten repetitive steps. These features are announced as permanent system improvements, not as time-limited event bonuses.

Solo RPG, challenges and online connection

The Steam version is labelled as a single-player game with an online connection and optional in-app purchases. The game focuses on an operator group led by the player, not on a cooperative action team of several users playing together at the same time. Interaction with other players takes place through friend features and visits, among other things.

As part of Sanctuary of Ink, a challenge format with selectable combat modifiers is also being expanded. Certain rules give the group advantages but impose new restrictions; some enemies receive additional attack patterns. The story, factory planning and such harder battles serve different player interests, without turning Endfield into a classic multiplayer RPG.

Languages, account and purchase model

Endfield is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases and random purchases. Steam lists an additional Gryphline account and a kernel-level anti-cheat system called Anti-Cheat Expert. According to the store description, this may require separate removal after the game is uninstalled.

For the Steam version, Steam lists 14 languages with menus and subtitles, including German. Steam lists full voice-over for English, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese. The language and account details of this PC version should not be read as identical technical requirements for every mobile version without checking.

Game series

Arknights: Endfield belongs to the Arknights brand world, but does not take over the tower defence system of the original mobile game. The focus is on direct operator combat, exploration and building automated factories. The Talos-II story also works as a standalone entry point into this universe.

Endfield is developed by Hypergryph; worldwide distribution is handled by Gryphline, the company's international publishing brand. Further announced chapters will change the game world, without existing release dates or platforms being retroactively rescheduled.
