What is Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement?
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement is a new 2.5D action RPG in the Bloodstained universe and is set in 16th-century England. At its center are Leonard “Leo” Brandon of the Black Wolves and the knight Alexander “Alex” Kyteler, who together must infiltrate the Ethereal Castle and bring down the demon lord Elias.
The story starts well before Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. This makes The Scarlet Engagement a standalone entry point, but for series fans it also expands the world’s backstory.

Gameplay
The game combines exploration, combat, equipment and crafting on the largest map in the Bloodstained series so far. A dynamic day-night cycle changes lighting, surroundings and parts of how you interact with the game world.
The central buddy system lets Leo and Alex fight together at the same time. One character is controlled directly, the other supports in combat. You can switch between them at any time with a button press. There is also the Epiphany combat system, which unlocks new moves and special abilities during battle.
Materials you find feed into crafting, cooking and equipment. Armor changes not only stats but also the visible appearance of both heroes. The TGS trailer shows the faster 2.5D combat, enemy groups and exploration of the cursed regions around Elias’ castle.
