What is Cakey's Twisted Bakery?

Cakey’s Twisted Bakery is a first-person survival horror game. A child searches a bakery for his missing brother George, whose colourful rooms are ruled by dangerous mascots.

Instead of prevailing in open fights, the player character must find hidden paths, collect ingredients and watch the movements of the enemies. The seemingly friendly candy world provides a contrast to the dark events.

Cakey’s Twisted Bakery was released on July 5, 2024 for Windows PC. It followed on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on Dec 11, 2025, and on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on Jan 8, 2026. The Nintendo Switch version was released on Feb 12, 2026.

TinyMindz published the game itself on PC. Ultimate Games distributes the console versions.

Cakey’s Twisted Bakery is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. Separate versions are offered for PS4 and PS5, while the Xbox version supports Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

On Nintendo Switch, the single-player adventure can be played in handheld, tabletop or TV mode. Playability on a Switch 2 is not the same as a separate Switch 2 release.

Gameplay

You explore the bakery from a first-person perspective and dodge the roaming monsters. Tables and dark rooms serve as hiding places while you search for items that open up new paths.

Progress depends on watching your surroundings carefully and avoiding risky encounters. Enemies do not have to be defeated in a conventional combat system.

Cakes as weapons against monsters

Collected ingredients are turned into cakes in different colours. These can stun or knock out monsters and combine collecting items with escaping through the bakery.

The recipes are more than just scenery: if you match ingredients and enemies correctly, you buy time for the next rooms.

George, Cakey and the other residents

The search for George is the goal of the adventure. Along the way, the child meets the bakery mascot Cakey, as well as Frostina and Candy Bane, who turn the supposed candy paradise into a dangerous maze.

The mix of bright colours and menacing figures shapes the horror more than a realistic depiction of the surroundings.

Single-player and language

Cakey’s Twisted Bakery is a purely single-player game. Steam lists English menus and English voice acting. Nintendo and PlayStation also list English as a supported language.

The PC version offers Steam achievements. There is no official support for a co-op campaign played together.

Age rating and horror content

The Nintendo Switch version is rated for ages 16 and up in Germany. The candy-colored design does nothing to change the threatening encounters and the hide-and-seek with monsters.
