Chernobylite

Chernobylite is a computer game by The Farm 51 that combines exploration, a freely designed base and choices in a nonlinear story.

The PC version was released on July 28, 2021. PS4 and Xbox One followed in September 2021, PS5 and Xbox Series in April 2022. The Nintendo Switch version was released on December 13, 2024.

Chernobylite was released natively for Windows PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch. The PS5 and Series versions have their own technical improvements. On Switch, the base package is called Complete Edition and includes additional free game content.

Exploration is divided into missions. The story reacts to choices, while equipment, planning and companions determine progress. Stealth and direct confrontation are different ways to reach the goal.

The Complete Edition includes the base game and all free content updates, including additional story missions, locations, equipment and game modes. Separately available extras such as cosmetic packs, an artbook and music also exist.

On PC, Steam lists at least a Core i5-2500K, 8 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 660 or GTX 1050 or a Radeon R7 260, plus 40 GB of storage. Recommended are a Core i7-4790K, 16 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 970 or GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 480 or 570.

Between exploration missions, an expandable camp serves as a base. Workstations allow crafting of equipment; rooms and furniture serve further purposes for the group. Companions receive their own missions. Available food and medical supplies affect their care.

Chernobylite is a single-player game. The PC version offers German menus and subtitles; voice audio is available in English and Russian. A cooperative mode is not listed in the official Steam entry.
