Dead by Daylight: Chucky Chapter

Dead by Daylight: Chucky expands the asymmetrical horror game with the murderous doll from the Child’s Play film series. The new Killer is called The Good Guy and hunts four survivors with a knife, surprise attacks and his own stealth mode.

The chapter includes Chucky and, as a bonus for buying the chapter separately, the Good Guys Box charm. A new survivor character or an additional map is not included.

Chucky was released on Nov 28, 2023 as an additional Killer for Dead by Daylight. The release included PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.

Sales of the chapter and its related cosmetic items end on Nov 24, 2026 at 11 a.m. US Eastern time. If you have unlocked Chucky by then, you can continue to play him afterwards.

Chucky can be played in Dead by Daylight on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. On PC, the chapter was offered via Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store, among others.

The base game is required for the expansion. Chucky is not a standalone playable horror production. Regular online matches and cross-platform matchmaking in Dead by Daylight form the technical basis.

Chucky stands out because of his small size and unusual camera perspective. Instead of the usual first-person view, players see the Killer in the third-person perspective. This makes it easier to keep track of survivors during a chase and keeps the character controllable despite his small silhouette.

Like other Killers, Chucky has to defend generators, injure survivors and hook them. In certain animations, the ghost of Charles Lee Ray appears so the small doll can carry out these actions.

The chapter adds one Killer with their own ability and three perks. It does not include a separate story campaign or a standalone multiplayer menu. Play takes place on the maps and in the modes of the base game.

Additional outfits were released for Chucky, including a version as Tiffany Valentine. This cosmetic variant is not automatically part of the chapter's standard content.

On PC, the technical requirements of the base game apply. Dead by Daylight requires a 64-bit Windows system, at least 8 GB of RAM and a DirectX 11 compatible graphics card. To use the chapter, the installed base game and an internet connection are required.

In Hidey-Ho mode, Chucky becomes temporarily undetectable. At the same time, misleading footprints appear and make sounds, making it harder for survivors to track him. The ability has a cooldown and cannot be maintained permanently.

Deception creates opportunities to surprise opponents or close the gap during a chase.

With Scamper, Chucky can slip under knocked-down pallets or quickly vault windows during his special mode. As a result, some common obstacles work against him differently than they do against larger killers.

Slice & Dice is a chargeable sprint attack. Chucky lunges forward and tries to hit the survivor with his knife. While he charges the attack, his freedom of movement is restricted.

Friends ’Til the End builds on the obsession mechanic and, after a survivor is hooked, can make another survivor temporarily vulnerable or reveal their position. Hex: Two Can Play punishes repeated blend and stun attempts with a hex effect. Batteries Included increases Chucky's movement speed near completed generators.

The perks mainly affect information gain, chasing and dealing with obstacles. Their exact values may change with game updates.

Chucky, once unlocked, remains playable. Owners keep the character, his outfits, add-on items and the ability to invest Bloodpoints in progression. Prestige levels and the rewards tied to them also remain reachable.

The three perks will be available to players without Chucky as general Killer perks. They will then be called One Track Mind, Hex: Eye For An Eye and Gaining Steam. Owners keep the original names of the perks.

The cosmetic variants include the stitched-together Back From The Dead Chucky and the legendary The Good Gal outfit with Tiffany Valentine. The second variant has its own dialogue, voiced by Jennifer Tilly.

New purchases of these cosmetic items are no longer possible after Nov 24, 2026. Variants you have already acquired remain usable in the game.
