What is GigaBash?

GigaBash is an arena fighting game with huge monsters and superheroes. Up to four players battle each other in cities, industrial plants and other destructible locations. Instead of fighting with small figures on a fixed battlefield, the titans hurl cars, buildings and other parts of the environment at each other.

Malaysian studio Passion Republic Games develops and publishes the game. The characters are inspired by the visual style of Japanese kaiju films but have their own abilities and stories. Additional character packs add Godzilla, Ultraman and Gamera.

Gameplay

In battle, it's not just your choice of fighter that matters, but also how you use the arena. Titans throw opponents through buildings, use objects as weapons and combine melee with special attacks. Characters differ in reach, speed and the style of their attacks, for example.

Through fights, they collect Giga energy and can transform into more powerful S-class forms. A player who is knocked out early can still disrupt the remaining fighters with ranged attacks. This keeps even larger rounds moving until the final duel.

Game modes and solo campaigns

Battle Mode offers free fights for one to four players, locally or online. There is also Arcade mode with eight random opponents and a final boss. Mayhem focuses on shorter mini-games instead of a regular brawl.

Four standalone solo stories follow Gorogong, Pipijuras, Woolley and Thundatross. An additional mode lets players fight alone or together against endless waves of enemies. Collected power-ups help, and enemies can appear with altered traits.

Playable characters

The roster ranges from the aggressive Gorogong to the mechanical Thundatross. Pipijuras relies on ranged attacks, while Gigaman, a human superhero, takes on the Titans. Woolley, Rohanna, Rawa, Skorak, Kongkrete and Zyva are also standalone creatures in the game.

Each character has a different attack speed and their own special abilities. This changes the tactics of a round noticeably, even though everyone fights on the same destructible maps.

Game series

GigaBash is an independent brand from Passion Republic Games. The Malaysian studio draws inspiration from Japanese monster films and superhero series. Godzilla, Ultraman and Gamera are not part of the original lineup, but appear through officially licensed character expansions.

The collaboration mainly expands the fighter roster. The core idea remains a local and online arena brawler in which large characters smash their way through destructible environments.
