Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is a platform fighting game featuring characters from various cartoon series. SpongeBob, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and characters from Avatar face off in arenas. The goal is to knock your opponent out of the play area.

Each character has their own attacks and moves. It can be played solo, locally with friends or online.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl was released on October 4, 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The Nintendo Switch version followed on October 5, 2021.

On Xbox, the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions are available via Smart Delivery.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. On Xbox, the Series X|S version is delivered via Smart Delivery. PlayStation offers versions for PS4 and PS5.

The Switch version can be played in TV, tabletop or handheld mode. The game is available on Steam for PC.

Battles are about knocking opponents out of the arena with hits and skilful movement. The characters rely on different special attacks, combo strings and movement on the ground or in the air.

A match therefore doesn't depend only on reaction speed. A character's reach, their position on the stage and their special attacks also play a role.

The Universe Pack adds Jenny Wakeman, Hugh Neutron and Rocko to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. Each character comes with an additional arena and an alternative costume. The three character packs are also available separately.

Jenny Wakeman was released on May 13, 2022, Hugh Neutron on Aug 5, and Rocko on Oct 7, 2022. The base game is required for all extra characters.

On PC, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl requires at least 4 GB RAM, DirectX 11 and 15 GB of storage. Steam lists an Intel Core i5-4430 or AMD FX-6300 as the processor. The graphics card should be at least equivalent to a GeForce GTX 960 with 2 GB or a Radeon R7 370 with 2 GB.

For the recommended settings, Steam lists 8 GB RAM, a Core i5-6600K or Ryzen 5 1600, and a GeForce GTX 1060 with 3 GB or a Radeon RX 580 with 4 GB. The current Steam client requires Windows 10 or later.

The roster includes SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, Leonardo and Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Aang, Korra and Danny Phantom. Other characters come from Hey Arnold!, The Loud House and Invader Zim.

Their attacks play with the quirks of the source shows. The shared battlefield brings the cartoon worlds together without needing a continuous storyline.

Battles take place on 20 themed arenas. These include the jellyfish fields from SpongeBob SquarePants and the Technodrome from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The stages differ in their layout. Their platforms and edges affect how fighters position themselves and how they can knock opponents off the field.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl can be played alone against computer-controlled opponents, or locally or online with others. On console, up to four players can compete against each other. Online matches on console require the respective online membership.

In single-player, extra content can be unlocked in the gallery. A connected narrative campaign is not part of this first game.

Since June 2022, the fighters have English voice acting. A free update added voices for the roster and introduced usable items. These include Krabby Patties and Sokka's boomerangs.

Items can affect battles and can be turned off in the options. They permanently add to the original combat system.

On-screen text is available in German, while the voice acting is in English. The PC version also offers French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch as on-screen languages.

On Nintendo Switch, you can play in TV, tabletop or handheld mode. Each person needs a compatible controller for local multiplayer matches.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 was released in November 2023 as a standalone sequel. The second part adds a single-player campaign, new fighters and extra special attacks. Battles still take place in arenas featuring well-known cartoon characters.
