Gungrave G.O.R.E: Blood Heat

Gungrave G.O.R.E: Blood Heat is not a simple remaster but a complete rebuild of Gungrave G.O.R.E from 2022. Studio IGGYMOB is rebuilding the game with Unreal Engine 5 and reworks not only graphics and cutscenes, but also movement, level interactions, enemy behavior and the entire combat flow.

The focus is again on Beyond the Grave, who shoots through mutants, syndicates and bioweapons with his twin pistols Cerberus and his massive coffin arsenal. The story is meant to be understandable without prior knowledge of the older Gungrave games and goes deeper into the conspiracy around the Scumlands.

Gungrave G.O.R.E: Blood Heat is set to release in 2026. IGGYMOB has not yet named a specific day or month. The PlayStation Store still lists the game with the 2026 release window.

Blood Heat was first presented at the Tokyo Game Show 2025. In September 2026 a new action trailer followed, showing the reworked combat system in more detail.

Confirmed are PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. On PC, Blood Heat releases via Steam and the Microsoft Store. The Xbox Store lists PC and Xbox Series X|S as supported platforms, while the PlayStation version is announced for PS5.

The game is designed as a single-player title. A version for PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch is currently not announced.

Blood Heat remains an uncompromising third-person action shooter, but puts much more weight on movement and melee combat. The new action material shows parries, parry counters and additional melee attacks that tie Grave's constant gunfire more closely to direct gun kata.

IGGYMOB switches movement controls from eight fixed directions to free 360-degree movement and has extensively rebuilt the animations. Enemies are meant to react more aggressively and varied, while additional environmental interactions bring the arenas more into the fights. The goal remains the typical Gungrave principle: keep large enemy groups under constant fire, extend combos and create as much destruction as possible from as little standing still as possible.

For the PC version, Steam now lists specific system requirements. The minimum is Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600, 16 GB RAM, and a GeForce RTX 2070, Radeon RX 5700 XT or Intel Arc A580. Recommended is a Core i7-12700 or Ryzen 7 5800X, 32 GB RAM and a GeForce RTX 3080, Radeon RX 6800 XT or Intel Arc B580. DirectX 12 and 60 GB of free storage are required in both profiles.
