Guns of Eschaton

Guns of Eschaton is a first-person action game with Soulslike elements from Eschatology Entertainment. The journey takes place in a Western world changed by supernatural forces. A survivor tries to find the way home through dangerous areas.

Combat, studying enemies, equipment decisions and exploration are closely intertwined. The world draws on 19th-century motifs and combines them with horror and mythology.

Publisher 4Divinity and developer Eschatology Entertainment have announced Dec 8, 2026 as the release date. The date applies to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The same date is listed on Steam. All information refers to a planned launch, not a released full version.

Native versions are announced for Windows PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No native version has been confirmed for older console generations or Nintendo hardware.

Steam lists single-player, co-op and PvP, as well as German text and subtitles, but no German voice acting. It is still unclear whether the online features will be available cross-platform.

The focus is on precise combat, reading movement patterns and the targeted use of different equipment. A codex collects information about the game world and the traits of its creatures.

The character's design combines classic shooter controls with stamina, timing and supernatural abilities. How well this works together cannot yet be fully judged before release.

For Windows PC, Steam lists a minimum of an Intel Core i5-8600K or Ryzen 5 2600X, 16 GB RAM and a GTX 1070 with 8 GB or Radeon RX Vega 56. You need Windows 10 (64-bit), DirectX 12 and 45 GB of storage on an SSD.

Recommended specs are a Core i7-9700K or Ryzen 7 3700X, and an RTX 3070 or RX 6700 XT. The figures come from the store before release and are not independent benchmarks yet.

The setting draws on the architecture, history and myths of nineteenth-century America, altered by occult forces. Settlements, factions and creatures are meant to show the consequences of a catastrophe.

The artistic concept bears the mark of Viktor Antonov, known for Half-Life 2 and Dishonored. The publisher says his work shaped the game's visual design.

Guns of Eschaton is set to be fully playable solo or in two-player co-op. The publisher describes this as part of the whole journey, not just an extra mode.

Steam also lists PvP as a feature. Cross-platform play, matchmaking rules and server details have not yet been fully confirmed by official information.
