Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Hello Kitty Island Adventure combines an open island adventure with a relaxed life simulation. On Friendship Island, players explore regions, solve puzzles in ancient ruins and help characters from the Sanrio universe bring an abandoned amusement park back to life.

Unlike a classic action game, friendships, exploration and creative activities set the pace. Players collect materials, cook, craft, fish, garden and decorate their lodgings and surroundings. The stories develop further through new acquaintances and tasks.

The first version came out on Jul 28, 2023 via Apple Arcade on iOS. Native releases for Windows PC and Nintendo Switch followed on Jan 30, 2025, and the PlayStation 5 version on Aug 5, 2025. A separate Nintendo Switch 2 Edition was added on Nov 13, 2025.

On Oct 8, 2026, Sunblink released the extensive free Welcome Home update (version 3.0) for the current game platforms. It is a game update, not a new standalone edition and not a paid DLC.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure is available natively for iOS, PC with Windows, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5. The Switch 2 Edition is a separate version with improved technical features and supports special functions of the Joy-Con 2.

A Switch version on Switch 2 alone would not prove this separate edition. Xbox or Android versions are not confirmed as additional native versions in the official product information evaluated here. The Welcome Home update expands existing game versions and does not replace any of them.

On Friendship Island, players form friendships with characters such as Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll and My Melody. Activities and suitable gifts strengthen your relationship with the characters and unlock more tasks, locations and options.

Besides the main story, cooking, crafting, fishing, collecting animals and gardening are part of the gameplay that is available permanently. Various island regions and ancient ruins invite exploration. The game focuses on goals and discoveries rather than a fixed time pressure.

The housing features of Welcome Home 3.0 are part of a free major update. No paid Season Pass is required for it.

Separately, other packs and editions of the game are available, including Wheatflour Wonderland, City Town and Tea Garden. These products have their own content and availability. They must not be confused with the free expansion of the building and housing systems.

On Windows, Steam requires at least Windows 10, 6 GB RAM, an Intel Core i5-4360U or comparable hardware, and an Nvidia GeForce 650 with 1 GB or an AMD Radeon HD 7750 with 1 GB. DirectX 11 and about 5 GB of storage are also required.

German is provided as an on-screen text language. The details describe the PC version and cannot be taken as general performance requirements for Nintendo or PlayStation hardware.

With the free Welcome Home update, players can build, customize and expand their own house on Friendship Island. In addition, selected Sanrio characters receive their own houses. Expanding these homes comes with new tasks and another secret of the island.

This makes housing a permanent part of progress: the focus is no longer only on furnishing existing visitor huts, but also on planning additional living spaces and a personally designed home base.

New Floorplans allow larger or differently divided huts. Layouts and kits save combinations of room arrangement and furnishing items. They can be transferred between your own huts and shared with other players.

The update makes elaborate redesigns easier, because a combination you have designed once does not have to be rebuilt from scratch every time. Sharing applies to saved designs and items under the rules described by the developer, not to a freely accessible public building marketplace.

A dedicated Creative Mode Room lets you experiment with many furnishing items. Players can also change suitable floors and walls, place rugs more freely and match their rooms more precisely.

Pocket Rooms add extra areas inside a house. Doors, regular stairs and spiral stairs also allow more complex house layouts. These features expand the building tools that are available permanently and are not limited to a temporary decoration event.

New Mailboxes serve as a place to exchange gifts. Messages and items from friends and certain hub locations can arrive there. Gifts can also be left in the mailboxes of Sanrio characters.

Such paths complement the existing friendship system. Instead of always having to visit the respective character directly, gift management gets an additional place in island life. The feature does not replace the characters' personal quests.

Beyond home building, the update introduces the Rocky Rail Ride in the Crystal Caves. Together with Pompompurin and Chococat, the search for a special new ingredient awaits there. New visitors also join the island community.

Nevertheless, the focus of Version 3.0 is on lasting housing and decoration features. Short-term calendar rewards and individual seasonal events are not part of the lasting description of the game systems.

The game supports online co-op for visiting islands together with one other person. Besides exploring and quests, friends can exchange creative ideas for accommodation.

The new layouts and kits expand the ability to share home design ideas. However, this does not mean that all progress, purchases or save data are automatically transferred between different platform accounts. For switching between devices, the respective provider's terms apply.
