Honkai: Nexus Anima

Honkai: Nexus Anima is an adventure and strategy game with collectible creatures from HoYoverse. Players explore an open world, form bonds with beings called Anima and team them up for tactical battles.

Anima accompany their owners not only in duels. Their abilities also play a role when exploring the game world. The story combines a modern city with a fantastic world made up of different levels.

Honkai: Nexus Anima is expected to release in spring 2027. HoYoverse has given this timeframe for the regular launch on PC and mobile devices.

A closed beta test already starts on Nov 25, 2026. It can only be played with selected access and erases progress after the test ends. Signing up for this test does not equal access to the finished game.

Honkai: Nexus Anima is announced for PC, iOS and Android. HoYoverse also lists all three platforms for the final closed test in November 2026.

A pre-registration on the App Store has been announced for iOS.

Exploration, creature collecting and tactical battles form the core. In the open world, players encounter different Anima, form bonds with them and build suitable teams for battles. On the journey, Anima abilities open up more ways to interact with the environment.

A story unfolds around these encounters, in which the connections between different forces and the world's inhabitants change.

The adventure begins in Iya, a city with modern districts and coastal landscapes. The locations shown include office buildings, a bank building and an island with a lighthouse. The game combines city streets with wider exploration areas.

A camper van for accommodation and habitats for Anima are meant to complement longer excursions through the game world.

Anima are collectible companions with different abilities and development stages. Players also encounter rare chromatic variants and younger Anima that accompany them on the journey. The creatures can grow and take on new forms.

HoYoverse has also shown direct interactions in which players hold Anima by the hand, hug them, or are carried by them.

In Nexus duels, a team of Anima compete. Choosing companions and linking their abilities determine the strategy. For competitive battles, HoYoverse has also introduced the Nexus Arena. There, players can pit their own line-ups against each other and fight for higher ranks.

In addition, battles against creatures in the open world and challenges at dedicated locations are part of the announced game content.

The story revolves around the Nexus, which connects opposing forces. These include love and hate, light and darkness, and reality and illusion. After these connections broke, Anima with special aspect powers emerged.

In search of the causes, players travel through different areas and meet characters whose decisions are linked to the world's past.

Nanafey, Bai Mei and Olympia are among the announced characters. They meet players during the journey and accompany various parts of the story. The characters pursue their own goals and are connected to the events surrounding the Nexus.

Another closed beta test starts on Nov 25, 2026. The test is planned for PC, iOS and Android and ends with the deletion of all save data. Among other things, it shows Nexus Arena battles, additional locations in Iya and new ways to interact with Anima.

A closed evolution test already took place in July 2026 on the same platforms.
