Gameplay

Progress comes from combining exploration, combat and crafting. Resources are mined or gathered and then turned into tools, weapons, armor, potions and components. Different weapon types and equipment allow changing playstyles without a permanently fixed character class.

Boss enemies and remote areas unlock further materials and equipment options.

Settlement and automation

Recruited residents grow plants, look after animals, work in workshops and take on other tasks. If you use their skills properly, you don't have to manage your base by hand all the time. Guards and traps can help during attacks, and traders enable the exchange of goods.

This is how the settlement develops from a simple camp into a work and supply system for later expeditions.

World, bosses and endgame

The procedurally generated world includes different biomes, caves, dungeons and challenges that build on each other. Resource finds and victories over stronger enemies expand access to new equipment. The 1.0 full version brought a connected world structure as well as additional later goals.

Co-op, LAN and dedicated server

Necesse supports online co-op and LAN co-op as well as corresponding PvP variants. Groups can run a settlement together or divide up different tasks. Fair Games provides official files for dedicated servers on Windows, macOS and Linux.

The size of a group depends on the server configuration. No universal fixed maximum should be derived from this.
