PAYDAY 2

PAYDAY 2 is a cooperative first-person heist shooter from OVERKILL. Players take on members of the Payday Gang and choose missions via the fictional CRIME.NET network.

The core combines online co-op, character-based builds, varied mission flows and a long-term unlock structure. Many jobs support both a stealthy approach and direct firefights against AI enemies.

PAYDAY 2 launched in 2013 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In 2015 the Crimewave Edition followed for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with updated visuals and a large bundle of content released up to that point. The Nintendo Switch version came out in 2018.

The platform versions differ in long-term content. The PC version in particular was expanded over many years, while console versions have their own update and DLC status.

Native versions are available for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The PS4 and Xbox One versions run on newer hardware via backward compatibility and are therefore not counted as native PS5 or Xbox Series releases.

The PC version also supports SteamVR. The long-term content and update status differs between PC and consoles.

PAYDAY 2 supports cooperative play with up to four players as well as single player with AI companions. Character progression and customizable builds are among the long-term core systems.

PAYDAY 2 has been expanded over many years with additional playable content, characters and systems. The scope differs between PC and consoles, as not all later PC expansions were released on every platform.

Steam lists at least Windows 10 (64-bit), a 2 GHz dual-core processor, 4 GB RAM, a graphics card with 1 GB VRAM, DirectX 11 and 32 GB storage. Recommended are Windows 11, a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor, 8 GB RAM and a graphics card with 2 GB VRAM.

Play online with up to four players together. Skills and perk decks allow different specializations, while unlocked gear and modifications determine long-term progression.

The PC version supports SteamVR via the free VR add-on. It also has a longer content and update history than the console versions, so it should not be treated as having the same features across the board.
