Pokémon Masters EX

Pokémon Masters EX is a free-to-start mobile game by DeNA in cooperation with The Pokémon Company. Instead of collecting individual Pokémon, you build teams from so-called companions: well-known trainers from the Pokémon series and their respective partner Pokémon.

The story takes place on the artificial island of Passio, where trainers from different regions come together for the Pokémon Masters League.

Pokémon Masters launched worldwide on Aug 29, 2019 for iOS and Android. DeNA released the game as a free-to-start title with in-app purchases.

Pokémon Masters EX is available for iOS and Android. The official website still lists both mobile operating systems as supported platforms.

A team consists of three companions, each made up of a trainer and their partner Pokémon. Battles are 3-vs-3 fights with a constantly refilling action bar. Alongside team building, type advantages, roles, passive abilities and the targeted development of individual companions play a central role.

Operation is not permanently identical in all countries. For the Republic of Türkiye, DeNA has announced that it will shut down the service with an update planned for Dec 22, 2026. Until then, all features are meant to remain available; after the service ends, the game can no longer be played there. The official announcement does not give a specific reason.
