What is Raji: Kaliyuga?

Raji: Kaliyuga is the sequel to Raji: An Ancient Epic and takes place six years after the first adventure. Raji returns as an experienced warrior, while her younger brother Darsh moves to the center as the second playable protagonist. Together they confront Mahabalasura, whose attack tears open the boundaries between the worlds of humans, gods and Asuras.

Nodding Heads Games is developing the sequel as a considerably larger third-person action adventure. The story stays rooted in Indian mythology but, according to the studio, should also be understandable for players who don't know the predecessor.

Gameplay

The most visible change from Raji: An Ancient Epic is the perspective: instead of an isometric view, the sequel uses a full third-person action adventure. The developer gameplay shown at Tokyo Game Show 2026 focuses on the different fighting styles of Raji and Darsh.

Raji fights with her Trishul and combines acrobatic movement with melee combat. Darsh instead uses so-called Siddhis and can combine powers around energy, gravity and time. There is also an adjustable dodge system that can develop differently for each character. Switching between Raji and Darsh happens as the story progresses, and the other character can be present as a companion.
