Serious Sam: The Third Encounter

Serious Sam: The Third Encounter is a new first-person shooter from Croteam. Sam Stone once again fights Mental's alien forces. The focus is on large enemy groups, fast battles and an extensive weapon arsenal.

The story picks up directly from Serious Sam: The Second Encounter. Croteam thus continues an older storyline in the series, rather than retelling the backstory of earlier games.

Serious Sam: The Third Encounter was announced on Oct 21, 2026. Croteam is developing the shooter for PC. The project is in an early stage of development.

The PC version for Windows is announced. The shooter will be sold via Steam. The product page lists Windows 10 64-bit as the minimum requirement.

The shooter focuses on immediate movement and firefights against numerous enemies. Croteam combines classic arcade combat with new elements. The battles range from defensive stands to attacks on Mental's forces.

The settings are set to span several alien worlds. Alien fortresses and inhospitable landscapes form the backdrop to the clashes.

The PC version requires at least Windows 10 (64-bit), a quad-core processor with 2.5 GHz and 8 GB RAM. Croteam lists the GeForce GTX 970 and Radeon R9 280 among the graphics cards. DirectX 11 is required.

Serious Sam: The Third Encounter supports single-player and online co-op. A split-screen mode is also listed on Steam. This lets multiple people face Mental's troops together.

The weapon arsenal combines familiar series weapons with new models. The Minigun is among the confirmed weapons. Croteam wants to give players enough firepower for battles against very large enemy groups.

German menus, voice acting and subtitles are announced for the PC version. Steam also lists English, French, Spanish and other language versions. According to the product page, language support covers 18 languages in total.
