Berlin in 2054
After the return of magic, Germany's political landscape has changed dramatically. Berlin is a fragmented city-state whose anarchic structures are known as the Flux State. Between corporations, street networks and supernatural threats, your team takes on jobs.

The mystery of Feuerschwinge
Decades before the main story, the dragon Feuerschwinge devastated parts of Germany before the military shot him down. When signs of his possible return appear, your team gets drawn into a conspiracy. The story links this myth with the personal conflicts of Berlin's Shadowrunners.

Story and choices
The campaign tells its story mainly through dialogue, missions and the relationships within the group. Choices affect how individual jobs unfold and can lead to different outcomes. The story can be understood without first completing Shadowrun Returns.

The Shadowrunners on your team
Your companions have their own abilities, weaknesses and personal concerns. Between missions you can deepen their stories and make decisions that affect their situation. In action, the makeup of the group is just as important as the path you take through the story.

Turn-based combat
Battles require careful positioning behind cover. You use firearms, melee combat, spells and technical abilities to overcome enemies. The Director's Cut changes the armour system and improves cover, damage and enemy behaviour compared to the original version.

Character development without rigid classes
At the start you choose a focus, but you are not permanently tied to a single class. Street Samurai and Adepts rely on direct combat, while Mages and Shamans draw on supernatural powers. Riggers control drones, while Deckers break into digital systems.

Hacking, drones and magic
Technology and magic complement each other when solving jobs. Deckers access computer systems, Riggers expand the group with remote-controlled drones, and magic-using characters rely on spells or summoned creatures. This creates different paths through the same tactical situation.
