Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts is out for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. On PlayStation 5, the PS4 version can be played via backward compatibility. This is not a standalone PS5 release. Alongside the single-player campaign, the PC version offers online PvP.

The campaign consists of 25 main missions across five mission areas. Each mission sets a goal and a fixed cash reward. Extra challenges bring in additional earnings. You can replay the same areas with different routes and tools.

Instead of one seamless open world, the game offers several larger maps. Observation and planning are just as important as precise shots.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts has more weapons and cosmetic customization. Optional packs include Crossbow Chaos, Savage Sniper and Merciless Marksman. Steam also offers a soundtrack and additional weapon designs.

The main campaign with its five operation areas is part of the base game.

On PC, at least 8 GB RAM and 20 GB of free storage are required. Steam lists an Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD FX-6350 as the processor. The minimum graphics card is a GeForce GTX 760 or Radeon HD 7870, each with 2 GB of graphics memory.

Recommended: 16 GB RAM, a Core i5-4690K or Ryzen 5 1600X, and a GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon RX 580X. Using the current Steam client requires Windows 10 or newer.

The locations range from snowy landscapes and mountains to harbors and industrial sites. Black Gold is an open harbor area with wide lines of sight. The environment offers cover, elevated positions and various routes to a mission objective.

The five areas are reached through the contract campaign. Each can be revisited for additional challenges.

The dynamic crosshair supports precise shots from long range. Distance and external conditions must be taken into account to hit. The choice of position therefore also determines how much preparation a shot requires.

If you move unnoticed, you can find other routes to a target and avoid unnecessary open firefights.

A controllable drone and an upgradable AR mask are used for reconnaissance. The mask can mark conspicuous objects and enemies. Equipment also includes remote-controlled turrets, special ammunition and gas grenades.

Main and side missions pay money, which can be used to unlock new weapons and upgrades.

The contract campaign is designed for single-player. There is also online PvP. On PlayStation, online matches require a PlayStation Plus membership. A shared co-op campaign is not among the listed game modes.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts runs on CRYENGINE. On PC, Steam offers German menus and subtitles as well as English voice audio. Controllers are partly supported.

The depiction of violence is adjusted by region. On the German market, a certain display feature is restricted due to the age rating.
