Gameplay
At the core is building a permanently viable Mars colony: power, oxygen, water, food, transport routes and domes all have to work together, while research unlocks new technologies and buildings. The Relaunched version carries over the previous major expansions and their systems, including terraforming, rival colonies, underground expeditions, trains and additional production mechanics.

DLCs and expansions
The Prime Mission expansion pass includes Interplanetary Codex and two new expansions. Feeding the Future released on Sep 8, 2026 and expands farming, food, delicacies and production chains. Machine Utopia is announced for Q4 2026 and is set to add mechanized work and large industrial facilities.

Martian Assembly
The Martian Assembly adds a lasting endgame system for the colony's social development. Players pass laws, respond to different interests and can lead Mars over the long term to independence from Earth. The Mission Sponsor Interplanetary Codex expands this layer further with its own tools and a Law Office.
